I’m Jenna Stoeber, a video essayist and livestreamer with a Master’s Degree in Media and Culture. I used to work for Polygon, and now I am TOTALLY INDEPENDENT. Here’s where you can find my work:
A brunette woman with shoulder length hair and glasses looks off-screen. She has red lipstick and a wide smile, and she's wearing a curly golden jacket and a massive pale green costume ring.

I expect Nintendo fans to create an audio guide with all the historical contex for us to listen to when visiting the museum since there's 0 besides "here's things we sold".

NEW VIDEO ALERT
Nintendo's Museum Problem
I visited the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto. There were indeed some things from Nintendo's history that were missing, and some stuff I was surprised to see!

Somebody's got to hold Nintendo accountable for this disdain for solo riders

Finally got around to watching this, and I am impressed how much Jenna's licking-based assessment of the Nintendo Museum was actually a useful lens for discussing the limits of corporate internal storytelling as a teaching tool

The companion video I mention in Nintendo's Museum Problem is NOW UP!

The lower level of the Nintendo Museum features games, both analog and video, that commemorate Nintendo’s past. But you won’t be able to play them all! So which ones are actually GOOD?

They are very good at, and totally within their legal right in, treating their IP that way.

HMMM Ultra Machine most lickable (because of the seclusion) but Love Tester most satisfying to lick

Oh my god, I agree. I was SO underwhelmed by the gift shop, I didn't buy a single thing. I was tempted by the Ultra Hand, but that was it. The museum-specific merch was so bland!

Collectors! Store owners! Hoarders! Help us out! @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social is looking to source copies of this 1985 NES pack-in poster for fundraising reasons, and we need them asap. We already cleaned out eBay. Note that they need to be the ones that say copyright 1985, as pictured! Can pay!

oh man, good luck on your thesis!
thejenna.bsky.social
HMMM I'm on the fence about it right now. I loved doing it BUT I've been doing a lot more freelancing work - which unlike the podcast, does pay cash money. I will make an announcement on the feed one way or another before the end of the year!
