Embarrassing statement incoming. I'm a Christian who's never read the Bible cover to cover. Yup... Guilty. I'm reading now. It's slow going when you feel compelled to question everything, like I do. Exegesis of Greek and Hebrew takes time. And it's been a rewarding experience.

Chocobos and moogles are iconic creatures in the Final Fantasy series. FFXVI features both races, naming Clive’s mount Ambrosia and the pompom-headed huntmaster Nektar. In classical myth, ambrosia and nectar are the food and drink of the gods, associated with eternal life.

In Final Fantasy VII, Hades can be summoned as a robed, skeletal figure, a design that personifies Death. This doesn’t match Hades of Greek myth, though, who ruled the Underworld but did not escort souls the dead to the afterlife. That role belonged to Thanatos, the God of Death.
