I’ve been really enjoying my copy. It looks amazing, the quality of the writing is incredible (love the article by @malcolmcraig.bsky.social) and it SMELLS great (remember getting an annual on Christmas Day?)

Had a fantastic Saturday being part of the Games Workshop Research Day in Manchester today.

First a really interesting panel on player communities & how to grow them, then an intro to Gorechosen, and finally #bloodbowk live! which was lots of fun.

Great job @jennycromwell.bsky.social & Paul 👏🏻
The title screen for Bloodbowl Live! Kåre preparing to put on a bloodbowl masterclass. RickWreckless & I are stood to the side with our microphones providing commentary on the game. Jenny compèring is on the right. The player communities panel is to her right. My player from Gorechosen who took an absolute pounding in the game 😄

I’ve found the most competitive players *ever* @dracowie.bsky.social burned through his bennies due to sleep deprivation satisfying Lucretia & her companions-tactically @orlanth.bsky.social took advantage by taunting him clever moves, he had more flair, but Doc was ruthless and won! Great stuff!

Great to see Jordan and others at this event today. Fascinating thoughts on miniatures, lore, communities and platform capitalism. Thanks to @jennycromwell.bsky.social for organising!

He revised his opinion by the 25th anniversary edition, which is reprinted here. He summarises that in the end, it was a net “good” as it had a more positive legacy.

Yes - it’s a real pot-boiler, but there are some nice stylistic flourishes here and there - particularly the shark scenes.
