Let me add...then the mayor's buddy starts making trampolines & selling them to the people in the town & makes a PROFIT off of your tax dollars. Once the playground is falling apart the mayor makes everyone think playgrounds are the problem & everyone should just get a trampoline.

If the town paid 70% for everyone who wanted to buy their own trampolines (or other structures), how long would it take before the funds to maintain or create new public playgrounds run out? Is this fair to the people who don't have yards or $$$ to buy their own trampolines?

Let's say your municipal taxes paid for a new playground in town for everyone to enjoy.

But you would rather have a trampoline in your fenced yard, for you & your friends' kids to use. So you ask the town to pay for 70% of the costs. Does that make sense? Who would be ok with that?

Agreed 100%. I refused to sign the letter for my daughter when it came home. I told the principal that it smacked of “just following orders.” It was as insufficient a defence at Nuremberg as it is in Alberta schools. 🤬
