Yeah maybe since it’s such a popular trail there’s just a higher likelihood of ANYTHING happening, even though the trail itself doesn’t have many hazards

Ha that is indeed an unusual one! I've never lost a shoe completely but the first big hike I ever did the sole ripped off my shoe and I had to duct tape it. Recently on a group backpacking trip one guy lost the sole of his shoe too, and we had to wrap paracord around to tie it together. #parkchat

100% and I think there's also something to be said for messing up and having a few blunders in the beginning, it's like you kinda have to have a few of those to learn. Can't come out the gate fully formed. Some things you wouldn't even think to google, I've run into the most random issues #parkchat

Sometimes I think I really need to trade in my Tacoma for a smaller car because dragging that behemoth around curves and picking up too much speed on downhills and having zero turn radius is starting to wear me out #parkchat
