#Japan recently elected their first female #PrimeMinister. Unfortunately, she has several questionable views---opposing same sex marriage, penalising media that "unfairly criticises the government", believes in consequences for defacing the national flag, etc.

I get why where's a market for cutesy, rainbow horses with horns, *especially* amongst children--many children like horses, colour, and cute things, and in most children's media it is how they are depicted.

What I don't get is how sparse traditional unicorn ANYTHING is.

SURELY there's a bigger market for traditional unicorn merchandise than the lack of it suggests. Look at the success of The Last Unicorn, or even just other more "accurate" depictions of mythological creatures.

Fantasy-lovers would probably love that shit.

I've complained about this before and I will complain again. Why are there so few traditional folkloric (or Medieval) #unicorn plushies?!

Imagine if dragons almost exclusively got Dragon Tales-esque plushies/merch in general. That's what the surfeit of rainbow vomit horses with horns feels like.

And while they're at it, I would like these anime dragons ( Cerpull) back.

A blue, bipedal dragon-like creature with a set of horns and a mane running down their back and up to their tail. Their snout is similarly shaped to a beak, and they have anime-esque eyes.

To clarify, "child development" extends to teenagers as well.

Thankfully, a lot of countries are putting a lot of effort into FIXING the environmental issues now. There's absolutely hope.

So far, we have had: a PANDEMIC, multiple horrific natural disasters, two(?) wars, a populist, corrupt right-wing political wave in the West, growing concern about the state of education and the effects of technology on child development, and worsening environmental issues.
