No sign of any kind of improvement, or a win just around the corner. Just one of the best defences in the top flight last season, being asked to stay halfway up the pitch and left shipping goal after goal as a result.

That’s why he’s gone. Blagged his way in. Delivered nothing.
The difference was that Clough wasn’t mounting the club’s first European Campaign in two decades, or managing a club which had been Top 3 for almost the entirety of the previous season.

Ange took a successful team, did zero homework, played to the squad’s weaknesses and lost over and over.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t take any joy in seeing Ange sacked. But it was such a bizarre appointment, such an obvious mismatch, and has derailed what was Forest’s biggest opportunity of a season in decades.

It’s a total failure on his part to understand the squad he took on, and their strengths.
Arguable best decision made this season so far.
It’s just who he is, mate.
Only if they don’t sack him.
Back then they weren’t being played relentlessly half way up the field.
I have zero doubt that Marinakis has a replacement lined up. It’s *when* he makes the decision.

It would be madness not to cut our losses here. But it’s his decision.

A remake of The Damed United but it's just Ange Postecoglou not training finishing or set pieces, shaking his head, and calling everyone 'mate' before getting sacked. #nffc
No wingers. Awoniyi up front ahead of both Wood and Igor Jesus. He’s still experimenting, then?
This. And more importantly turning a successful side into a repeatedly losing side.

Surely you mean Nott’m Forest?
It’ll be the classic ‘give him a chance’. Two more Europa League losses and he’ll get the boot, too late to make a difference.
Yes. We should absolutely be adopting this.
I just saw someone use the abbreviation “AI;DR” and I’ll be laughing for a while.
This should be beneath anybody with a long term interest in the game.

By this token we should all be claiming Spurs are punching *way* above their weight in third. They should have been dead certs for the relegation they narrowly escaped last season!

Football doesn’t work like that.
‘Massively overperformed’. How tedious. There really are some fragile egos amongst the established in the Premier League. Forest’s performance last season was down to tactical nouse, a strong first XI and being largely injury free until the final few weeks. Trying to belittle them? Really?
Sadly, yes. It won’t and can’t last forever. But there’s every chance they give him another month, totally blows the Europa League and lands us in the early days of a relegation battle.
Poor would be stretching. In the final month we had several key players injured. This was first season I can remember in many years Forest hadn’t had 3-4 players on the injury list at any time. We had a consistent and largely injury free season. This was a huge part in that success. Cost us.
Football fans of any club will put up with a manager giving it the Big I Am providing they’re winning games and playing good football.

Ange is not only not achieving that, but his tactics are naive and a poor match for the squad itself.

It’s not a good fit.
Can’t say I don’t agree, here.

I also feel like he’s done zero homework before blagging the job.

He can say he’ll fight for his job. But it’s not for the good of the club he’s joined. It’s very much about him.
He might love a fight, but sure as hell is good at losing them.
