Reading letters from the Princess Liselotte of Palantine, the German sister-in-law of Louis XIV, and it's wild because she had this super informal writing style that almost sounds like modern texts

Like at one point she goes "wish to god my son didn't love holding chunks of bread like a peasant"

Love when I’m smart enough to have my doctor call in a 3-month prescription because her practice fell apart so dramatically it made the local news and I don’t HAVE a PCP until January, but my insurer only authorizes and CVS only fills 1 month 🤷‍♀️

A sad irony in Washington, D.C., where West Virginia National Guardsmen were shot today. Six days ago, a court ruled their deployment was illegal, but stayed the order pending appeal. My heart goes out to these public servants and their families. oag.dc.gov/sites/defaul...

Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

Again, turkeys are 70-80% off from today onwards and last a year in the freezer.

If you’ve got a chest freezer in the garage that’s good soup, stew, and smoker meat for the whole winter for a really good price.

You ever think about how in the 80s and 90s, the oldies stations were playing music from the 50s and 60s, and what that implies for what should be oldies here in 2025?

anyway shout-out to Britney Spears' Toxic (2003)

a cancer nurse in a state I've never been to told messaged me and said that reading out Rice Truck aloud as it happened was the only day in her entire 14 year career on chemo ward that nobody cried and it's probably the best compliment I will ever get in my life
What is the best compliment you ever received? Putting aside whether or not you believed it.

Today, in Utah, homeowners *or renters* can simply buy a solar panel at Costco, take it home, and plug it in to a wall socket, like an appliance. It just sits there & trims about 15-20% off a residential power bill. If you move to another apt., you can take it with you.

BREAKING: SCOTUS will not grant the Trump administration’s request to allow it to fire Shira Perlmutter, the director of the Copyright Office, at this time. It puts off any decision while the court is considering the other two firings cases. Perlmutter stays in office during that time.

I'm gonna tell you about a guy named Peter. He called for support often and it wasn't stupid stuff. But it was complex.

He drove a BMW. He was divorced. He was of course a sales person. Probably the most successful sales person in California and maybe the country.

He serviced the government.
You meet the users where they are to stop them doing the stupidest shit imaginable.

You have no idea how much this paid off. The number of infected media players people downloaded in the age before Windows Media Player had more than three codecs is unimaginable

Who knows if I saved the firm

“How did you get into ttrpgs?”

Using a pair of tiny silver scissors, I unpicked the hem and climbed inside, where I proceeded to refashion the various pieces until they became a comfortable nest for my own dreams, then I cut star-shaped holes to let my dreams fly. Sometimes there’s a flamethrower.
“How did you get into ttrpgs”

After receiving a full pardon from the governor I found a great deal on a trailer in Malibu and just haven’t had a good reason to get a real job yet.
