there have been a lot of responses to this arguing that young Republicans were motivated by such feelings but didn't express them openly

and I think a crucial lesson of the Trump era is that there is great value in people not expressing these things openly! that's a big and decisive change!

They totally understand systemic bias... as long as they are the victims of it.
They didn't get hired b/c DEI, they didn't get promoted b/c DEI, etc etc etc.

There is no one more put upon and downtrodden than they are.

What if they aren't REALLY hyper racist, they just are pissed off THOSE people manage to claim victimhood & suffering with more success than they do.

It would explain the whole downplaying slavery thing & how they were forced to suffer doing their own labor is wrong.
