This Saturday night, November 29th 💥 Big rock show w/ Ashtray Babyhead & The Easys * 8pm * $10 bucks Formed in the late '90s, alternative pop/rock quartet Ashtray Babyhead plays radio-friendly punk-pop tunes along the same lines as Weezer and the Get-Up Kids. With the help of producer Barry Poynter (the Adventures of Jet, Zao, the Juliana Theory), they recorded the punk-pop fueled O-Rama, distributed by Valmar Records in 1997. Their subsequent independent tours led to shows at the CMJ and ASCAP showcases in New York City, Nashville, and SXSW in Austin. In the spring of 2000, Ashtray Babyhead returned to the studio to record their sophomore album Radio, a shift to a more pop-oriented version of their brand of rock & roll. After touring the West Coast, the band (Scott Cook, Jeff Matika, Ryan Scott, and Josh Faulkner) secured a contract from Glue Factory Records, which released their second album in October 2000. ~ Zac Johnson, Rovi How exactly does The Easys stand out from the rest of Isaac Alexander’s material? In his own words, the band is his outlet for “catchy songs” and “pop-centric” material in the vein of Squeeze, Big Star and Elvis Costello. The group is also unique because Alexander shares songwriting duties with keyboard player and backup vocalist Rob Bell.

Helena native, WW2 vet, swing band bassist, longtime host of “King Biscuit Time” blues radio show.
Blues Hall of Fame inductee.
I knew Sonny nearly 30 years, worked with him for 10+.
