Mixed feelings about the Comey indictment. On one hand, he is more responsible than anyone aside from maybe Putin for Trump's election in 2016, and I will never forgive him for that. On the other hand, this is obviously politically motivated prosecution and is the shit that happens in dictatorships.

As much of a corrosive influence Charlie Kirk is on society, political violence is never - never - acceptable. This is absolutely horrific.

I'm sorry to all the innocent people that are hurting or going to be hurt by the acts of the Trump administration, but unfortunately it is going to take a lot of suffering for enough people to wake up and eventually snap America out of this insanity, if that is even going to be possible.

I sincerely think that universities should suspend their productivity standards for scientists and ask them instead to hold town halls in schools, public libraries, museums, shopping malls, and anywhere else and communicate what is being lost with the collapse of the research ecosystem.
“The ecosystem of research and the creation of new knowledge in universities has been so powerful for American prosperity, American freedom, American ingenuity. To have that disrupted by government overreach is a disaster for this country.” —Wesleyan University President Michael Roth on

Last week: SpaceX ship explodes, shutting down a huge chunk of Florida airspace.
Today: X completely down.
The last month: Tesla stock price down by a third.

Gotta hand it to Musk: He really is running the government like he runs his businesses.

Finding it difficult to imagine at this point what it would take for America to regain the trust and confidence of the world, and to atone for its reckless and nefarious destruction of the post-WW2 liberal democratic order. I feel like something has irrevocably changed.

I wish this wasn't the case, but the only way to get through this insanity brought on by Trump, Musk, and the Republicans is for a lot of people to suffer and hurt, and then for millions to mobilize and vote so that Republicans are never able to pull this shit again
