I want to get to know all you #BuildInPublic peeps

What problem do you solve?

Who do you solve it for?

What is the investment required to adopt (time and/or money or ???)

What is the ROI on that investment?

Reply (with links if you have them)
Klept away but it’s already second hand:

programmerhumor.io/programming-...

Don’t know if it’s actually true though or just a meme that stuck

Anyone have a link to the original post?
Very Inefficient But Entertaining

Yeah I found that web site when I was thinking of building the picture clock version of it

The site would have displayed an image and with each second one pixel would update until it overflowed to the next one and they rolled over like an odometer

Every picture imaginable 😎

Then along came math…
Vibe = Very Inefficient But Entertaining 😈

Eventually you’ll get to the place where you realize you’ve been in the library of babel all along
"vibe coding" really is the worst development in software of all time. "woah what if you could just tell the computer what to do and then it did that" that's called writing code. code is the language that tells the computer what to do.

Startup culture is just the art of pretending free pizza and bean bag chairs make up for your soul being slowly crushed
No you only think they do what you think they do
The dark side of cloud computing is when they keep changing the rules (infrastructure)

The changes are either:

Meh

Or

OMFG we’re all going to die

Doesn’t seem to be much middle ground
I was kinda thinking the same thing
Ah I see it now (that orange thing seems to be flipped but that is just a screen refresh)

It’s the taxes calculating — which given that I’ve worked on something related to — means that it has to figure out where you are then lookup the applicable rates — so that’s likely the delay your seeing
I still don’t understand — why is this price moving?

Didn’t the video show some selection being made?

Yes if the price just jumped arbitrarily without any reason that would be annoying if not just plain stupid and that I would agree with you but that’s a complete design failure
Is scale possible without sacrificing quality?
Oh that really tightens things up 🙄
What’s your reasoning on the pros and cons here?

#Apple does this as does #Framework and those are more than likely to be copied by a lot of other sites
All the 💩 that’s happened to you

Does it define you

Or

Did it just refine you

Just starting this one now

Did NOT start they way I expected it too 😳

Kinda sucks you in quickly though

#BookSky

Will see how it lives up to the expectations compared to “The Four Hour Work Week” by the guy that likely never worked as little as a 4 hour week

I think people tend to conflate the size of the market with the size of the market they could attract

Yes one might think they are related however in reality unless you’ve already got some level of star power it just might be an inverse relationship that gets one out of the gate
I think it’s kinda important to note that ALL output from LLMs is hallucination

Some of it is interesting

Some of it is actually useful — especially if you already know a good chunk of the topic

We are still very much in the buyer beware stage of it’s evolution however

Nice breakfast — what’s for lunch?
After this week I feel like I know more about #CSS that any human has a right to

Doing dynamic tagging of website templates via JSoup

Had no idea what could be done with CSS until I dug in on this

Bet I’ve only just scratched the surface however

#BuildInPublic
Thankfully I have not hit these too often and in this case digging in is going to be really worth the effort even if it wasn’t planned at this time in the product arc
