After about 15 minutes or so they can be demolded!
A full hard cure takes a few hours, but this is a bunk of the major solicitation.
You can see the issue in the gaster palm with bubbles. (It actually is kinda helpful for the fingers being glued in later)
White plastic in a blue mold White plastic bones, heart, and gaster hand
Since there's nothing added in this mixture, you can see the 'bloom' as it cures very clearly!
It's an exothermic reaction, so thicker spots reach the reaction temperature sooner. It's always neat to watch!
This is the resin turning from a liquid to a solid.
Mold trimmed and first cast this morning! (I call the first cast after cleaning a dummy cast, it's meant to clean the mold and not be a used cast.)
Without glow powder, this plastic compound goes in clear!
Blue mold with syringes nearby Mold filled with clear liquid Clear liquid pushed around a bit
And also the 500 skeletons project I've got is using these wonderful little bundles of noise for inspiration. If you want to support some OG Sppeedcore, there ya go!

Oop. Spoke too soon. The gap between the medium sized bones wasn't enough and they tore.
It's ok! The purpose of this mold is to make multiple castings that will then be made into a group mold. Just means there's a few extra trimming steps for the cast pieces
How the strength of silicone is a delicate thing, even with harder silicone.
The trimming process is typically done with small scissors inside the mold because tears will propagate unchecked if they happen.
Demolding! It did GREAT! There's a bunch of trimming to do, but I'm happy with it.
Part of degassing is forcing the silicone into every nook and cranny as tight as possible.
View of the mold being taken off. The blue silicone is caught very thin under the edges of the heart and a bone The removed mold with lots if excess where it slipped underneath the original on the right.
And it's on the level, we'll see how it comes out tomorrow!
Final end of degassing. See it all return to normal pressure!
Noise warning!
Initial vacuum degassing process. Delicate balance of pressure moderation
Silicone pouring, a little talking on my part. It's just a neat texture as it flows, y'know?
(I plan on degassing, so I'm sloppy here.)
Got some resin stirring things that go on my drill, first time trying it this way. Was more a mess with drips afterwards, but huge success.
A paddle stirrer lifted out of some blue goo Blue goo poured into a cup with measurement lines. Up to the 3.5 Oz line White goo poured on top up to the 7 Oz line Stirring the goo together to make the silicone mixture. A pretty spiral formed
Setting up the new mold! Thread of process!
Picture of cartoon bones in various sizes and a couple hearts and a hand with a hole in it, all glued to a chunk of coated wood. There is a rough black square drawn on the block. Bread's hand is shown for perspective. Mold walls are made of off brand legos. Monster Clay fills the gaps and coats the exterior A level on top of the block on the floor.
AAA THANK YOU ^^
I'll make you such a cute note <3
Three down 497 to go.

"What's your style?"
Go. I try not to question anything. Getting it down at all is better than nothing.
There's something very fun in being like "This is my source material and explaining how I got to where I did would take longer than doing the drawing did"

Because that happens a lot.

With the holidays upon us, don't give to Salvation Army. Not even change. It's a scumbag "charity" run by anti-gay zealots.

Habitat for Humanity is great. Your local Food Bank is great.

So many "charities" are for-profit scams. Use Charity Navigator to vet them. www.charitynavigator.org
Fun fact about the Salvation Army: they use a form of substance use treatment called work therapy. Oh, and by treatment, I mean they have people who have been convicted of drug charges work for their stores & warehouses in exchange for room, board, around a $1 a week, and minimal actual therapy.

Happy birthday, Toby!!!
(stop ignoring the man behind you please)
Trinket Shop reopened and stalled out.
Still getting ready to make more new products (Bones, smooth hearts in multiple sizes).
Work is ok, shutdown has everyone tense. Pay is cut from now on, so we'll see how it goes.
There's a pending force relocation so I'm really unsure for the next few weeks.
Been playing games and doing more crafting than drawing. So I got it cleared out a bit!
