Completely out of the blue, I have been given a 100yr old Hungarian chicken foot-shaped folk object made from bone. A very normal Friday happening.

TIL that Xena (S03/E12) had a musical episode... based on Rider Waite Smith tarot imagery?

This I have to see.

My first Tarot DMs chat of 2026!

I caught up with Nottingham poet, playwright, and producer Bridie Squires for conversation about snowdrops, crows, Three of Cups reunions, creative ritual and lime marmalade.

Take a look at tarotdms.com

Blessed Imbolc! Wordsworth called the snowdrop a timid thing, brave enough to rise while winter still lingers. Christina Rossetti wrote of it as hope made visible - pale, but stubbornly alive. Imbolc is the perfect day for appreciating joy without apology.

Good to be back after surgery and just in time to reveal February's theme for Tarot DMs:

💘 THE LOVERS 🏳️‍🌈

We’ll be using the Queer Crow Death Magic Tarot by @mxfrankduffy.bsky.social and I can't wait to find out what tea will be spilled by these marvellous cards!

Hi everyone, it's Finbarre. Still off my feet and wearing a cast, so I have decided to try something new: Tarot cross stitch! My kit has just this minute arrived from innocentbones.com so I'll paint the frame black and get started.

Update from Tarot Interviews HQ: Finbarre managed to slip on black ice just after his last post and is now waiting to have his broken leg & dislocation fixed up.

No theme or interviews for January, but we'll be back soon!

Finbarre has added the former site of the birthplace of Robert William Felkin (1853–1926) to Google Maps as a historical landmark!
Felkin later became a significant figure in Golden Dawn history. The original house in Beeston no longer survives, sadly.

Good thing we have spare fizz in the fridge, looks like a fabulous year ahead! Love how, from a distance, the arrangement of the cups looks like "Yay" 🎉

Speaking of which, exciting news - the new guest deck and monthly theme will be unveiled this weekend!

Oh no. The Lion and the Unicorn are at it again! 🦁🦄

Finbarre has launched a folkloric Tarot game of "Snap" inspired by Lewis Carroll and Pamela Colman Smith.

Best played with tea + plum cake! Perfect for holiday journeys, date nights and New Year's Eve.

I didn’t expect genealogy to hand me this: a bloodline link to witch persecutions 600 years ago. Not on the right side of history, I may add. I’m not posting details yet because I want to get it right but it’s changed how I see my work. More soon.

Big news! TarotDMs.com is moving to a patronage model.

Subscriptions go directly toward paying honoraria for the artists we interview, allowing readers to act as patrons of the arts. Our interviews will still be free to read.

See the new plans here: www.tarotdms.com/subscribe

The Oak King represents the waxing light, growth, and summer. At the winter solstice, he battles his twin, the Holly King (ruler of darkness, winter, and rest), for dominion over the year in a cycle of death and rebirth.
