This is what I was wondering. To show they did not preserve communication, you'd probably have to first show there was communication to preserve.

This "I don't want to live next to someone speaking another language" reminds me of people who get enraged hearing strangers speak other languages out in public. Like, they aren't talking to or about* you. Just carry on your day.

(*well, they might be after you scream "speak American!" at them)

Twitter is sounding like the kind of place government agencies would have had undercover ops to find out what bad things people were plotting. Except now it is more like we need undercover press on Twitter to find out what bad things government agences are plotting.

I, too, can hope this spurs some change, but looking at history...will it? This is not the first time AWS caused a widespread outage and things have only gotten more concentrated. Same with other markets. Did we learn from "too big to fail"? No. Things have gotten bigger. I have hope, but not trust.

Exactly what I did this past week when AWS took a dive. The whole reason we went with the doorbell/camera we did was the ability to say no to the cloud and have access/recordings local. And yet, AWS goes down, so does the doorbell. I've yet to get an answer other than "internet access is required".

My favorite phrasing is the one that says the demolition "raises questions about ethics".

Looting the government, using DOJ as revenge, masked police, military in the streets, straight up murder...we should be well past questions of ethics by now.

"Unsuitable for public office" seems to be the brand they are going for. Maybe they think if they admit a person like this should not be in that position, they'll be next.
