The engine is finally out and the rust damage is finally hitting me as to how bad it really is.

In the words of Bette Davis "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night!"

This is going to get worse (it really can't but it will) before it gets better.

Of all the things that could have been said, like "You're shit, go kill yourself" You know, the usual YT comment, it was my foot wear that got me a thumbs down.

Exhibit A: The shoes in question.
Exhibit B: Shoes in the studio.
Exhibit C: The upload in question.

Some more rot hiding under Toby the Visa.

This is but a scratch on the surface of what's hiding under the rubberised bitumen stuff Citroën applied everywhere.

Up and away.....

Toby is with the Dr. However:

The bumper iron stopped ironing a long time ago. Now more suited to weight saving racing Visa's.

And I don't want to touch those front struts!!!!

And just like that, Douglas is working again.

It hasn't been easy. And today he fought me all the way down to the last bolt of the bumper.

Just for my reference, clutch release bearing is in.

Ohhhh how Dave and l still don't laugh about that fateful night 11 years ago when we forgot to fit one in his T2.

It's rare to see a straight man cry.....he then smoked lots and I sat in a dark corner of the workshop. We did speak for half hour.

I fitted a lightened flywheel to the Beetle. It's 6kg. It's 0.5kg lighter.

And then there is this work of art. Shame it has to be hidden in a bell housing. I'd mount it on the wall.

Hooray. Only taken 8 weeks but the Douglas Special is ready to go back in.

Hopefully tomorrow's job. It's just 4 bolts right....RIGHT!!!!

I don't understand covering plates on cars you are trying to sell. Leave them or remove them. Covering looks suspicious.

Or disguising them (badly l might add) like on this Lancia listing. I mean, it wasn't exactly hard to work it out.

Back at it on the few views channel. Talking about the Accuspark SVDA Distributor. The problems l noticed with Barry's running afterwards and then l notice a fault.

I have a week with Honda's Jazz hybrid long-name.

Country living can pose a problem for the car owner

I'm looking forward to the rest of the week being rainy.

End of year update on Roberto in this month's Auto Italia Team Cars.

Quite an active year for my number 2. And l tell you why it's number 2 on the BFoBD.

Also, updates on Tony Scanlan's Spider and Chris Rees Italian fleet that have kept him busy.

Catching up on some old brochures from 1994.

I was always puzzled as to why Fiat, using Wellesley Rd in Croydon, had the Cinquecento performing an illegal turn into Station Rd.

I do love a memory lane. 4 years ago l got bitten by the bug.

We've had adventures. We've had our ups. We've also had plenty of downs too.

And that's the thing about old cars. You just never know where it's going to go.

Work has progressed on the Douglas Special and a few changes happening to the oil cooling system.

Hopefully he'll be out of the garage in December so l can once again continue with Toby.

I read the article and it's not bringing back dealer special editions.

Which is a shame because the world felt a better place when we had *special editions.

*Some stickers. Maybe 2 tone paint if you were lucky.
