maybe you cant see rational points on a curve, book, but im built different
Screenshot of the book Number Theory I: Fermat's Dream. It says "Let us consider another circle x^2 + y^2 =3. The fact is that this circle does not have any rational point at all. Can you tell by looking at Figures 2.1 and 2.2 that the right one does not have any rational points while the left one has infinitely many? I suspect not. Human vision cannot distinguish such a thing."

Lookin for part time jobs rn to supplement my meagre student income. So far I have applied to 2 book stores, 2 tattoo/piercing places, and a card shop. If you have any ideas/recs lmk! I just want something low key and part time, although I realize that might be a pretty rare thing to find so yeah.

Burned out during my master's in math so I bailed and became a video game programmer. Finished my master's somehow on the side. Got to move to Montreal for work, which is a massive win. Then burned out working so I decided to go back to math and apply for a PhD at McGill lol. I start in January 😤

Learning infinite Galois theory right now as a first step toward class field theory and it's really cool but some proofs require some really annoying topology I learned years ago and never needed until now. Guess I gotta go learn Tykhonov's theorem again...?
