My statement on Donald Trump's threat to deport me and his praise for Eric Adams, who the President "helped out" of legal accountability.
The President of the United States just threatened to have me arrested, stripped of my citizenship, put in a detention camp and deported. Not because I have broken any law but because I will refuse to let ICE terrorize our city. His statements don’t just represent an attack on our democracy but an attempt to send a message to every New Yorker who refuses to hide in the shadows: if you speak up, they will come for you. We will not accept this intimidation. That Trump included praise for Eric Adams in his authoritarian threats is unsurprising, but highlights the urgency of bringing an end to this Mayor’s time in City Hall. At the very moment when MAGA Republicans are attempting to destroy the social safety net, kick millions of New Yorkers off of healthcare and enrich their billionaire donors at the expense of working families, it is a scandal that Eric Adams echoes this President’s division, distraction and hate. Voters will resoundingly reject it in November.

So the people of Jacksonville did it themselves using flashlights and gels.

They opened the drawbridge to block them.

So they marched to a different bridge.

Obviously I'm on Kamiya side, but his QRT does read like a line in a 80s mecha series where a cult leader who has been saying he's the Speaker of God finally meets an awakened survivor of the giant progenitor race he worships and gets killed from his hubris before the 2nd-to-last episode title drop.
An selection of four shots from the 1982 fictional anime, Intergalactic Defender Linguini, which mecha fans found too derivative of Daitarn 3, Space Adventure Cobra, and Galaxy Cyclone Braiger but has become relevant again due to its inclusion in the next Super Robot Wars; in which the main antagonist up to this point, Lord Forteanaydeeayight, has reached the "City of Gold" before the heroes and awakens the legendary Kamiya Kamui who has been asleep for 10,000 years. As his Fleet Fighter Custom is damaged, he demands the alien attack the heroes who are closing in on their location, the alien immediately sees through his silver tongue and remarks that the human race, who he once saw as unintelligent insects, have now developed a trivial sense of charisma and coercion. The alien crushes Lord Forteanaydeeayight and his giant robot in an instant, as it demonstrates to the impressionable young viewer that not only is the final adversary on an entire new level of power that will require at least one hidden final attack for Linguini which requires his father's amulet that was mentioned three episodes prior; but that grifting fascists are not exempt from the karma of the false idols they claim to serve. After 46 episodes of clashing with the heroes and causing dramatic hardship across the galaxy, the villain is quickly and almost unsatisfyingly killed, but that feeling of hunger for a proper punishment is sated as the title card drops for the 47th episode in which our heroes have to now deal with the alien mess their adversary woke, but perhaps can find victory in the power of friendship and this really cool beam gun they find in about 10 minutes.
