Just a reminder to y'all reading Aussie political posts that the Liberal party here is the GOP/ Tories and is coloured BLUE 🔵 and Labor is Left and is coloured RED. ❤️

There is reason we are down under in Opposite Land.

Ten per cent fewer Australians travelled to the US in August this year than they did last year. That was the only drop among our 10 most common travel destinations.

The Trump effect is real.

Tourism Economics now forecasts an 8.2% fall.

Indeed, he is. He has been described politically as a "right-wing populist and right-wing libertarian who supports laissez-faire economics, aligning specifically with minarchist and anarcho-capitalist principles". Nothing like accepting a good socialist handout by the USA

Why Australia went for the South Korean AS21 Redback over the German KF41 Lynx for an Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

Both superb IFVs, but personally, I think the Redback just has the edge.

Alan Kohler (Business journalist @ ABC News) just said on 3LO "Triple Zero" should never have been privatised.

I said this when PM Howard (LNP) privatised Telecom (which he rebranded Telstra) in 1997 that this would happen.

I was only a young reporter but I was already "into communications" 1/

Don’t know who needs to hear this, but Russian Navy KILO class submarines transiting to/from Mediterranean on the surface are routine. NATO of course watches them closely, as in this photo.

Russia does have increasing difficulty maintaining a presence in Med but this in itself isn’t a big deal

The Battle of Hastings was fought on 14 October 1066 between the Norman-French army of William, the Duke of Normandy, and an English army under the Saxon King Harold Godwinson, beginning the Norman conquest of England.

Normans! Not even once! 🤨😤

Both the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal and the 9K720 Iskander missiles are capable of carrying nuclear warheads, so I don't see the problem with the Tomahawks. The Orcs have been shooting these at Ukraine for ages, so STFU, Medvedev, you drunken POS 💩

More video of Afghan forces attacking Pakistani border guard facilities. There are reports they are advancing. Probably not for long but they have the momentum of surprise right now. It will probably all be over when enough "saving face" is accomplished so both sides can claim victory.

Russia lost 17,000 tanks in three years. Only 2,478 remain in storage—nearly all badly rusted and needing expensive restoration before they can fight.

The timing? Russia just shifted back to tank warfare after 282,000 infantry casualties.

Russia’s last 2,500 tanks are in very sorry shape
Russia's oldest tanks—some 50+ years old—are all that stand between Moscow and forced mobilization
