Phoebe doesn’t have complicated backgrounds. Neither did Peanuts, or Calvin and Hobbes, or most great comic strips.

Minimalism is a perfectly acceptable thing in comics. And it’s necessary if you’re a solo act.

if you're one person making a comic by yourself, don't treat yourself like you should function on the same level as comics that have multiple people working on them. your backgrounds can be squiggles and colors.

allow yourself room to be abstract with details and give yourself some grace
