We’re giving $40 billion to Argentina.

This is $5 billion MORE that the entire USAID budget that DOGE cut.
if you're in California vote yes on 50

if you're in NY vote for Mamdani

If you think voting doesn't matter just look back at almost a year ago today and how voting (or lack thereof for a solid yet imperfect candidate) now impacts every single day

Donald Trump has intentionally instructed the federal government to withhold emergency funding for SNAP - that is already paid for and set aside for just this purpose - that would cover almost 3 full weeks for all of the 42 million Americans who rely on it. Media is barely covering that fact at all.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Trump wants to use the Navy to build $10B worth of migrant detention camps.

Let me get this straight: we "can't afford" to invest in public programs that make housing or healthcare more affordable — but we have endless funds to detain migrants and enrich defense contractors?

In addition to money donations to food banks & food aid for people, please also consider donating money or food & litter to pet food pantries. Many people who rely on SNAP to feed themselves will now need to redirect $ to buy groceries that they would have spent on pet food before.

This video from Portland is a metaphor for what is going on in America. ICE trying so hard to get Americans to cross a line and if they don't, dragging them across the line and violently attacking.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.
absolutely. i think we also have to learn patience in terms of accessibility to items. its hard for me too. we are so used to having everything "now" when sometimes it's ok to wait.
I never thought I'd see the day where the internet was so vehemently supportive of Ronald Reagan's words
Reposted by madame web’s web
Reagan's approach to the world prominently featured two things:

1) Russian aggression bad, Western democratic alliance good
2) Free trade good, tariffs and other barriers to trade bad

Pretending it's the opposite is the sort of reality inversion only someone who rejects truth itself could buy.
I saw someone complaining about the wait times for purchasing at brick and mortar stores and that is their downfall. he real issue is capitalism makes our time a precious resource. if we weren't in a rush to do the 500 things we need to do to exist then we could relax for 5 minutes in a line

SNAP is not the reason your taxes are high.

SNAP recipients don’t need to “just go get a job”.

Most of them work. The rest are disabled, elderly, children or caregivers.

People need & deserve assistance

Your taxes fund wars and tax cuts for the ultra rich

Be mad about that
Reposted by madame web’s web
Anyone can become disabled.

Anyone can lose their job.

Anyone can become homeless.

Anyone can go hungry.

These are not moral failings. They can happen in an instant.

Most people are far closer to living in poverty than they realize.

We must fight for one another & for the most vulnerable.

If That’s a donation, it goes to the treasury and only congress can decide how to spend it. No such (lawful) thing as private payment of government obligation.

the reason experienced film makers are embracing AI is because they have already achieved success and can't comprehend the insane hurdles that filmmakers in present day are facing. people with privilege rarely think of other's experience and see the world solely through their own lense.
