Do I think it would be good hire? Do I think it makes sense? Does it make me trust Pat Kraft more?
No. But that's not fair to Sitake. It could work! If we're grading it purely on a Kraft scale: I don't get it. It's a lot of faith in the PSU brand.

I do not know how it would work in terms of getting regional talent for someone who has zero connection to the area but that's maybe why you keep Terry and co.

One thought that just occurred to me: Is this a play to compete against the Samoan pipeline that Oregon and USC have. In a lot of ways, those schools are bigger threats to Penn State than say Michigan. And then you keep Terry around for traditional recruiting grounds.
I’m not a coach hire newsbreaker and I don’t know how this story ends, but I’ve talked to enough people I trust over the last 24 hours to believe the kalani sitake / penn state chatter is not just message board fodder. There’s legitimate smoke.

I think a lot of people, including me, were under the assumption PSU would want someone by NSD (which is the 3rd.)
In theory, needing BOT approval before they can get anyone to sign, you effectively need it approved by the 2nd. However...
