because of this, I was moved to buy "Millions of Cats" for my 2-year-old grandson for Christmas 🎄🎁🎅
POEM 290: The One in a Million Cat by Millie Tullis (@millietullis.bsky.social)

Could I bring home the ox,
if I were the Ox-Cart Man? How
would I keep the millions of cats
from fighting, if I were
the Millions of Cats Man?
How I would keep them fed
if I were his Wife.

this is beautiful -- a wonderful reminder that putting yourself inside a story is a gift of childhood that, ideally, stay with you as an adult. Could I bring home the ox, if I were the Ox-Cart Man, indeed.

Love this, thank you for posting/sharing.

Sometimes at dusk I walk around and look (ok snoop) through people's windows, after they turn on lights and before they close the curtains. This poem just out in the lovely Dawntreader (from @indigodreamspub.bsky.social) is in part about that - in part about heartache.
