For Disability Pride Month the senate said why don't we kick a bunch of people off Medicaid and close rural hospitals, wonderful

There are so many people who are disabled but NOT officially on disability bc it's SO hard to get who rely on Medicaid for their medical care who deserve better

There are so many financial literacy workshops for poor people, but they do not account for the fact that most people just legitimately need more money. It's not a spending issue or a budget issue. It's a lack of funds. Like this person said, try living on less than 900/mo

Ppl love to conflate poverty & disability with incompetence.

$861/month of disability income to live off of is significantly below the poverty line. The average studio apartment alone in my area is double that. I promise you, budgeting & financial literacy skills aren't the fucking issues here.

When people are like oh people have always gotten sick at conventions, Im like yeah but now we have this cool tool we know about that would prevent a lot of that, so why wouldn't you want to do that?? Any illness could make someone miss a few days of work, why not prevent that when we can??
