Every ai booster believes that college is about doing homework. They think there’s a homework goblin that pays the colleges for their homework. Their dream is that they can have a machine that you can pay $75,000 to and receive a college degree from in four years.

"International student numbers at the campus had fallen by 52% since 2021-22, the university said."

Yet another aspect of the fallout from Brexit.
At what point will someone in the UK government wake up and see the crisis higher education is in? We are seeing these news eveey week and this government is doing absolutely nothing about it.

He’s gesturing to a sleeping man as he says “He’s the only leader in the world who can help end [the war in Ukraine].”
Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him directly next to him. Just insane optics.

Just an unserious person.

Like how, HOW, does she plan to nationalise the internet?

I’m all for more regulation of tech giants and web services but says shit like this further cements my view that she’s not to be taken seriously.

She’s all rhetoric, no substance.
Zarah Sultana apparently wants to nationalise the entire economy including the Internet.

RFK Jr: "Two weeks ago we ended, under your leadership, a twenty year war on women".

Three out of five men in this shot have been accused of sexual misconduct, harassment or abusive behaviour towards women. A fourth signed into law a near-total abortion ban in his state as governor.

I’d love for these people to define ‘culture’.
Rep. Kat Cammarck: "Today, one in six people in the US is foreign born. That quite frankly is not sustainable to maintain a culture that we are known for here in the United States."

Love Red Letter Media. And it's depressing that I can't tell whether some of their suggestions are actually legitimate are not.

Yes.

LLMs are used to outsource our critical thinking.

(as an aside I wish news stories would differentiate between LLMs like ChatGPT and AI being used in places like medical screenings)

Heard the one about how dozens of researchers assigned $144,000 worth of real world human tasks to the world’s “smartest” AIs to manage and…

They fucked up so monumentally that they were able to generate $1700 between them

Giving real "when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal" Nixon vibes
Q: Was the initial order from Hegseth to kill everyone and did that come from President Trump?

LEAVITT: I would reject that Hegseth ever said that. However, the president has made it quite clear that if narcoterrorists are trafficking illegal drugs toward the US he has the authority to kill them

That's..... that's really not how international law works.
FOX: You said the follow up strike was lawful. What law is it that allows no survivors?

LEAVITT: The strike was conducted in self defense to protect Americans

What irks me in this clip is at the end he insults the press and one of them just says “thank you Mr President”.

It’s just so pathetic and loathsome how febrile and cucked so much of the media has become.
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

It's so clear from this whole exchange that Noem has no clue if the guy had been properly vetted during his asylum application.

If he had been during the Trump admin, she would say so.
WELKER: His asylum was approved in April on Trump's watch. Was there a vetting process in place?

NOEM: The vetting process all happened under Biden

WELKER: Are you saying he wasn't vetted?

NOEM: Vetting happens when they come into the country and that was completely abandoned under Biden

Enemies = Anyone Trumps says is an enemy.

As someone who wrote their PhD about the public sphere, I feel pretty confident in saying that currently, Twitter/X is the most poisonous influence on both national and international discourse.

It is actively harming democratic societies.
If a drug was having this societal effect it would be banned within a week. Across the world, politicians are - through their inaction - completely abdicating their responsibilities to civil democratic discourse.
Small changes to ‘for you’ feed on X can rapidly increase political polarisation

Trump has never once in his life extemporaneously used the phrase "western civilization." He was once asked about western liberalism and thought they were talking about California Democrats. One of the more blatant tells for a Miller-written screed.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“
