LibDems defeated Farage’s 10 minute rule bill to take us out of the European Convention on Human Rights earlier. Frontbench Labour abstained. Tories voted with Reform. This was the make up of the house for the debate. Only really the LD benches bothered! Will this get any coverage I wonder ?
Labour failing our children. Ignoring evidence led policy. Why???

This is not about money, it's about leadership and Labour are letting us down.

Chris Philp failed FIVE times to call out Reform MP Sarah Pochin’s blatantly racist comments.

The Conservatives are too scared of Reform to call out this racism for what it is.

Liberal Democrats will always call out racism and stand up for a decent, tolerant Britain.
The data is really only useful if you have local knowledge as well. Canvassing over a period of time and understanding how sentiment has changed, as well as understanding local dynamics is so important.
Watching @bbclaurak.bsky.social. The difference between Wes Streeting's impassioned statement of unity and Chris Philp's mealy mouthed tacit support for racisism from reforms Pochin was stark.

No doubt that both Reform and the Tories are harbouring racists and not calling out awful discrimination.

The two-child limit is cruel, self-defeating and traps children in a life of poverty.

It's time to end it once and for all.
*Caerphilly observer and Golwg excepted, but they are not mainstream media.

How can people make an educated vote when there is no real coverage?
The media coverage of this by-election has 💯 focussed far too much on reform and the issues they wanted it focussed on. There was little to no coverage of the real issues which are controlled by the Senedd and no in-depth scrutiny. As the LibDem candidate I was not asked any in-depth questions*
You should try being the candidate for one of the smaller parties! Only the local paper and a Welsh language magazine took any interest at all.

Don't forget the M4 between Bristol and Bath will be closed this weekend to allow steel beams for the new A432 Badminton Road Bridge to be lifted into place.
The M4 will be closed in both directions between junctions 18 and 19 from 7pm, Friday 24th October to 6am, Monday 27th October.
The BBC are just taking the p!ss now.

People who have come to the United Kingdom legally, played by the rules and made it their home do not need to “go home”. This is their home.

I've written to Kemi Badenoch to give her the chance to reject these divisive calls from her frontbencher Katie Lam.
Populism has never worked.

Make promises you can't keep to gain power.

Fail to fulfill the promises.

Either get voted out, normally to a party on the other extreme OR cling on to power by removing democracy.

Either way the population loses out by having a gov focussed on power not solutions
Lower participant rates in Scotland, and their Universities are in a more perilous state than those in England and Wales.

It's not working at all
Which would mean either massively higher taxes for everyone, or devastating cuts to universities and a return to university just being for the few.

Populism doesn't work.

Doesn't matter if it's left or right
This is so relevant to #Wales as well
One of the biggest barriers to students in rural areas accessing vocational studies through FE colleges is that they live so far away, and that travel costs a fortune.

I asked the Education Secretary what plans she has to put an end to that barrier.

YOU HAVE TO MARVEL AT STARMER’S STUPIDITY.

Leave Johnson’s right wing appointees in charge of the BBC? The first thing any sane prime minister would have done is to clean out the stables, wouldn’t they? Not our Keir. He’s taken stupidity to a whole new level.

Reform UK’s Llyr Powell wanted Kemi Badenoch to be Prime Minister.

#Caerphilly, your Reform UK candidate is power hungry so he moved over to Reform.

He doesn’t care about principles he just wants power.

The problem is Llyr.

Not sure you can say this isn't tax avoidance @danneidle.bsky.social - whether they did this due to a purposeful decision, or through incompetence they've still tried to avoid paying tax.
Amazing story in The Times. Reform UK failed to pay VAT to HMRC on its sales (tickets, merchandise). About £400k in all.

Not tax avoidance. Not tax evasion. They just didn't realise when you sell stuff you have to charge VAT.

If a politician is blaming all the problems in this country on one small group of people then they don't understand the problems or the solutions. They are just seeking power.

Populism from the left or right is equally dangerous.
Why are the BBC asking Ed Milliband about Prince Andrew. You invited him on to talk about net zero and energy. Grill him on that!
