The last playthrough of my did of my favorite video game, Dragon Age Inquisition, was during COVID lockdown. I started another playthrough last night. Guess this is my "The world is ending, but let's band against it" comfort game.

I started playing The Sims 4 a few weeks ago (nostalgia helps with the ever-present feelings of doom, ya know?). Anyway... I was reading a thread about how to plan weddings in the game and I literally felt more overwhelmed by that than when I planned our actual real life wedding. No lie. 🤣

Wait, Liam Neeson is starring in a reboot of The Naked Gun?! I used to love those movies (which probably haven't aged well). I hope it's decent because I might have to see this.

Caught up with my childhood best friend this weekend and we talked about our dysfunctional parents, and now having dinner in DC overhearing a woman talk about her parental issues. Millennials - did any of us have parental figures? 🤣

I love trains (including subway systems). I just love sitting here, listening to my music, and looking out the window. The spontaneous fires, breakdowns, and characters are just part of the charm. 🤣 But, really, I love transport infrastructure.

I never can win claw games. I saw these Snorlax and Psyduck machines and both had a plushie close to the drop area, so it seemed possible. I cashed in a couple bucks for 5 tokens. 2 tokens = 1 play. I got the Snorlax in one try. Thought I couldn't get that lucky twice. And then I did. 😍

We should all send Coldplay up all the charts today. You can mute your speakers if you prefer.

"Um, excuse me, is this your pizza?" 🤣

People who haven't rented in markets like Boston are always shocked when I tell them we have to cough up $9-12k upfront to move into a 1-2BR apartment (in the relatively "affordable" neighborhoods). It keeps you from wanting to move even when they raise rent every year because moving is too costly.

I have always used em dashes. I didn't steal from AI. AI stole them from people who know how to write.
Stop spreading this garbage about em dashes in ACTUAL EDITED PROSE OH MY GOD.

Plenty of actual human beings know how to type em dashes! We’re called “writers” and “editors” — maybe you’ve heard of us?

Call out for an interview subject.

Do I know any wheelchair users who attended one of the Nintendo Switch 2 hands-on events and tried the demo for Drag x Drive?

If so, would love to hear from you.

Game studies folks: I'm looking for some reviewers for HICCS. Specifically folks with expertise in gaming communities, narrative in games, monetization in games, streaming, governance, player motivations, and rhetorical methods and frameworks. HMU if that's you and you could take a paper or two!

I was just reminded of this FB message from my father from couple of years back. My parents don't text unless someone has died, call so I remember laughing so hard and being like, "Why this, of all things?" 😂😂

I'm trying some big things I've never done before this year. Might as well, when it could be our last one as Americans, right? *Knee snap/laugh-cry emoji*

Nah, but seriously. Putting myself out there because why not?

Newsom on Trump's military parade: "It's a vulgar display. It's the kind of thing you see with Kim Jong Un, you see it with Putin, you see it with dictators around the world that are weak ... Weakness masquerading as strength ... that's about as small as it gets ... that's Donald Trump."

Having a huge MAGA flag hanging from your balcony but also 5 yard signs promoting a local Greek cultural festival is certainly something.

A couple coworkers and I have been playing BG3 together and it's such chaotic fun. Tonight, I accidentally killed a wild boar that might have been a druid (we came back to the Grove during Act 2 to sell things because we'd killed many of the other merchants, some by accident😂).

My favorite dialogue in Clair Obscur are the "Yeah"s and "Oh"s. They all sound so authentic to how people actually express grief and hopeless that they hit like a ton of bricks every time. Charlie Cox, Ben Starr, and Jennifer English killed it.
