Fair play to the Football Association of Ireland for passing a resolution instructing its board to submit a formal motion to UEFA requesting the suspension of Israel from European competitions. There is no room in sport for perpetrators of genocide.

For the 33rd consecutive year, the United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly voted in favour of a motion calling for an end to the 64 year old US blockade of Cuba. The vote was carried by 165 in favour with 7 opposing.

On 23 September 2024, Israel launched an intensive aerial bombardment on Lebanon, heavily targeting Dahiyeh in southern Beirut where entire apartment blocks were destroyed. Despite a ceasefire on 27 November, Israeli strikes on Lebanon are happening on a near daily basis.

This weekend is the 43rd anniversary of the Sabra / Shatila Massacre when 2,000-3,500 Palestinian refugees and Lebanese civilians were murdered by the Phalange, a right-wing militia operating in co-ordination with the Israeli army. This cemetery in Shatila remembers the dead.
