Yesterday in Thailand, you were able towitness a rare green lightning strike. I was taking a picture of a thunderstorm with a long exposure and suddenly… one picture that I took was capable of catching this 😍

Over the past four months, I have sat down to start writing a new blog post at least 10 times. I have many topics that I would like to cover. From topics focusing on ADHD and the data world, through multiple news in Fabric, to Power BI and Power Query. Every time it ends the same way. I just can't.

Number Of Functions Matters!! (I mean... DAX UDFs) @jaypowerbi.bsky.social.
Model: 1 Table, 1 Row, 1 Measure
First run: 1011 UDFs
Second run: 20011 UDFs
Their DAX code is straightforward:
(x int64) => x

I have some exciting clients with different API responses and special behaviors of their items, in addition to any other clients. In these cases, you can't trust any limit or behaviour that will be stable—executing a sub-pipeline with the Copy activity using the VNet gateway? Nope!

Just a quick confession.. I think I am getting old. My previous temper to be loud, creating "shiny" stuff and speaking everywhere, completely vanished. I am thinking more about what I will invest my energy in. If I don't see potential behind, I am just skipping it without a single regret. 😅

One more #SVG after the while... I am no longer sharing them, as I can see that many people over-engineer their reports with them. It is an excellent addition to your visual layer, supporting your message, but it should not be the primary carrier of information. But... nah... do whatever you want...

Currently, Fabric Link requires approximately 6M21S87MS to register new data in Dataverse. This is much better than it was, but it creates enough time to load non-actual or non-reliable data into your structures. Come to my session at @sqlbits.bsky.social to learn how to solve it.
