Meanwhile, my much newer Windows 11 system is doing all right but I'm itching to move it to Linux as well. But I basically have a number of stoppers to work through, mostly related to producing my upcoming show. Not every app, plugin or script I use has a working alternative in Linux yet. Oh well.

I upgraded my old Windows 10 system to @linuxmint.com last December, and have never looked back.

Anyway, what spurred me wasn't necessarily this month's end of service. The Win10 Task Scheduler had a bug they wouldn't fix. CRON just works. And I have all the apps I need.
