Will this be like #Blackwater fish kill where"an investigation"is held but no accountability for wanton destruction of nature? What is needed for an Irish government to implement Citizens’ Assembly recs & enshrine protection of nature in our constitution? #speirgorm

While we approve more data centres, expand aviation and long-finger tackling systems solutions in agriculture, construction and transport - we see our ability to decarbonise and reduce emissions decline. Government burying the long-term consequences for people #Spéirghorm www.rte.ie/news/busines...
Ireland significantly off track on 2030 climate targets
Ireland has made progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) but the rate of reduction remains insufficient to meet the targets established.

Your 'moment of doom' for Oct. 9, 2025 ~ Arctic FUBAR

"If orange rivers are the first sign, what comes next could redefine the planet’s climate system, and faster than anyone imagined. What began as an aesthetic anomaly has become a planetary alarm..."

Arctic is turning orange — It could trigger a devastating chain effect sooner than expected
In the Arctic, melting ice turns rivers orange — scientists warn this rare phenomenon could trigger a devastating chain reaction for Earth’s climate.

the letter worked for me on 2nd application, not sure if I got lucky or they have changed something 🤷‍♀️
starrock2.bsky.social
Having same issue myself now, rejected by online system, wonder what the burden on admin staff has been/ will be with all mature students with expiring leapcards now looking for letters
starrock2.bsky.social
Apparently they are no longer accepting a photo of your student ID as evidence of enrollment. So every student whose card is expiring has to find someone to write a letter stating how many hours a week classes they take. Not sure how this applies to PhD students who don't take classes #phdsky

If you wonder why we are failing to reduce our transport emissions and why we have a dysfunctional car-centric transport system. This is why. This is who are invited to aa Oireachtas committee to discuss transport and climate targets...

The mind boggles.

18457 children murdered by a genocidal regime.
And that's just up to the end of July.
Imagine if every married couple with kids in Kerry had a child murdered-beyond comprehension-yet whole families are being slaughtered in Gaza with complete impunity #speirgorm 💔

Back to the actual and current Presidential candidates -with all the Jim Gavin shenanigans of the last 24 hours it may have not grabbed people’s attention that Heather Humphreys just threw trans people under the bus in response to a Grift dot ie reporters question! So there’s that! #aras25 #speirgorm

Saw your original post @drmarymcauliffe.bsky.social but its now showing as blocked ... this happening for anyone else? I wonder if he reported it 🤔
starrock2.bsky.social
Sure, will have a look at it tomorrow - is it just a matter of uploading clip or is there a form to fill too?

Seven hours in 30 seconds: time-lapse of #StormAmy in wild West Kerry. Hard to tell #MountBrandon exists! Unfortunately the camera just doesn't do justice to the rainfall and spray blowing from the sea. Plenty of seaweed on the other window from earlier! #speirgorm

Optimism on climate is hard to find, but solar power's meteoric rise is one very bright trend.

Deputy Whitmore asking the question we all want to know the answer to.

Although they didn't say it, it seems the answer to the question about when the EPA pull the plug on a non-compliant discharge licence is never. They never have to date.

Polluters can do their thing and still get licenced.

How many chances should be given to get it right?

Non-compliance under our licence system appears to be more the norm than the aberration when it comes to protecting our water quality
