Important things to consider for *any* non citizen now. I would also recommend using extra caution with domestic air travel and have a plan in place in case you are detained.
My immigration firm sent a newsletter today in response to inquiries from clients over the last two months. They "strongly recommend against international travel", warned against even walking past political rallies, noted government reps may ask to see emails, texts + social media, and these points:
Who are you to tell them that? I’m not “luring” anyone anywhere, but I am respecting people’s decision to come here and stay here. Wouldn’t they leave on their own if they were better off in another country?

Situation in Sudan not making headlines, beyond grim
“Individuals on the ground sent a message that reached us Monday morning that 1,200 were dead,” Nathaniel Raymond, the lab’s executive director, said. “By that evening, they said 10,000. By Tuesday, we couldn’t reach them anymore. We assume our ground contacts are dead.”
Yale lab reports mass killings in Sudan, calls for student activism
The Humanitarian Research Lab was told this week that over 10,000 people in Sudan were killed within three days.

Most are on payroll. All pay taxes.
“Likely 99%” - based on what…? When you’ve been proven wrong, why pluck a made up stat out of thin air? You don’t think that makes you look pathetic?
Also that’s something undocumented immigrants contribute to without utilizing.

I wasn’t aware of this strategy until earlier this week hearing from Little Village organizers that residents abducted by ICE have been ending up far from home, dropped at random gas stations and other suburbs. Unhinged in all the ways. Civil rights, due process out the window.

All books are fancy to you, aren’t they.
“Encounters” is a measure of enforcement actions. It’s not a measure of new undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.
You mean projections. Do you normally fight this much against your own citations?
It’s the conclusion of the report you cited.
They’re the opinions you cited…

What’s even more incredible here is that the conclusion of the report is that immigration needs to *increase* for the country to stave off population collapse.
I gave you a report from professional data scientists and you responded with a meme 😭
And I agree that the U.S. can absorb 10 million people. The total undocumented population in 2023 was 14 million. A 10 million increase over the course of 30 years. Your perception of the numbers doesn’t match reality.
And if you think the U.S. economy and jobs numbers are static then you really aren’t equipped for this conversation.
The numbers have in fact been higher. Successful entries from the 70s into the early 2000s were consistently much higher than during the Biden administration.
So we agree this is a lie bsky.app/profile/samc...

Defend NYC, a pro-Cuomo super PAC operated by Trump adviser Jason Meister, is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on sending out this text message to NYC voters, hoping it'll convince them to vote Cuomo for mayor, new filings show.
And this “3 million” figure is much more accurate to the undocumented immigration happening throughout the 80’s and 90’s. But there was nothing destructive about it. US workers are still here, 30, 40 years later.
70 people sharing one, open air toilet. Medical neglect, denial of food and water, and not only no bed but people are forced to sleep standing up because of a lack of space. It’s inhumane.
