When families face #childhoodcancer it can be so difficult to take in everything you’re hearing. For #FirstNations families, it can be much worse. That’s why the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario helped create this video youtu.be/_Sekbve94lk

Please take the time to read my latest on the lessons we can learn from those who resisted the Nazis. What was the spark that separated those who resisted from those who went along with tyranny?
We need to learn how to build resistance in this dark age.

Canada has human rights obligations under Jordan’s Principle and recent delays and clawbacks are keeping First Nations and Inuit children in poverty and less healthy than non-Indigenous children. This is a national emergency must be treated with the urgency it deserves.

Did you know that the lives of 1.8 million children within low- and middle-income countries could be saved if they had the same access to resources as the richest 20% of the population in their countries?

In the world of pediatric oncology, hope often hinges on access.

The STEP-1 program, a national initiative supported by ACCESS, aims to dismantle these barriers by ensuring that no child is denied a potentially life-saving clinical trial due to distance or cost.

I’m mostly happy about the election results but I’m sad that instead of Matthew Green, a tireless community advocate who cared deeply about Hamilton, people have elected Aslam Rana, a TMU professor who lives in Mississauga and plans to move here “first thing.”

The world feels like a rapidly unravelling dystopia. Everyone is being threatened at once so we all retreat to protect our self interest, and ignore the way others are being threatened. We need to still stand up for each other, together.
Reminder: we are being trained not to care about other people. It underlines the attacks on migrants, on DEI, on trans youth, on so-called "wokeness."

Sure there are legitimate critiques but this is not about critiques. It's about supercharging capitalism's culture of uncare.
