Marmarelli said Barghouthi denied recent reports that he had been beaten again, saying “the last beating I suffered was three months ago,” on Sept. 15, 2025, during a transfer by the Israel Prison Service’s Nachshon Division. During that assault, Barghouthi said four to five of his ribs were broken and that he “lost consciousness” during the attack. He continues to suffer pain in his ribs to this day. He received medical treatment only after arriving at Megiddo Prison and is now physically stable. Barghouthi told his lawyer that the Sept. 15 assault was “the seventh assault I have suffered since Oct. 7, 2023.” He also said he is “not receiving enough food,” saying that the IPS “does not provide the food it claims to provide.” According to Marmarelli, Barghouthi said he thinks of his family “every single hour,” including his grandchildren, whom he has never met.” The visit took place between 3:00 and 4:00 pm today (Monday). ⭕️ NEW: Gaza Health Ministry Director-General Dr. Munir al-Bursh rejected claims that infant formula and milk were deliberately stockpiled and dumped by Palestinian authorities, calling the allegations a fabrication being recycled to deflect attention from Israel’s aid restrictions and widespread looting under total siege conditions earlier this year. In a voice note shared with Drop Site, al-Bursh said the incident being cited dates back to August 2025, when UN reports documented that roughly 88% of aid entering Gaza was being stolen, largely by armed groups including the Israel-backed Abu Shabab gang. He said milk shipments were held on the Israeli side until just days before expiration, and when entry was finally allowed, authorities were able to secure only a small portion, which was distributed within ten days. According to al-Bursh, most of the shipment was looted, and those responsible attempted to sell it at highly inflated prices in local markets. When much of it could not be sold, the remaining quantities were later dumped in streets or disposal areas. He said the episode was fully documented at the time and accused prominent social media accounts well-known for spreading misinformation of reviving the story months later to distort the record. The claims have recently been amplified by the New York Post, the Israeli Foreign Ministry, other government accounts, and senior diplomatic officials, including Israel’s UN envoy, framing the spoiled milk as evidence of Hamas’s role in engineering famine. Al-Bursh said the narrative deliberately erases Israel’s role in imposing near-total aid obstruction for several months, enabling mass looting under siege conditions, and enforcing prolonged delays that left supplies expiring before they were ever allowed into Gaza. When countless other Palestinian activists and I from Gaza said this back in July, August, and September, we were villainized, attacked, threatened, and made into pariahs by the “pro-Palestine” industrial complex and activist mafias, even though for Gazans, the evidence was so clearly apparent before our eyes. What those in the West continue to fail to understand is that there is no being pro-Palestine without also having a serious vigilance against Hamas’s continued manipulation of international public opinion to hide behind the Strip's civilian international public opinion to hide behind the Strip's civilian population's suffering, something that the terrorist organization’s own actions have led to and created. Never allow yourself to be a useful idiot in Hamas’s propaganda. You can have compassion for the real suffering of the Palestinian civilians of Gaza, and demand Israeli action to facilitate aid entry into the coastal enclave, while still holding Hamas accountable for its part in causing a hunger and starvation crisis in the first place.
