Glamour Magazine just named “the dolls” their women of the year so I’m reupping this essay

It matters who is included and what kind of protection we call for. Putting “Protect the Dolls” on a shirt does something different than “Protect Trans Kids” or “Transition On Demand” or the entire text of the communist manifesto. It contributes to the capacitation and celeb-ification of transness. But I don’t just want a world in which there are more trans celebrities, even if I get to be one. I want a world in which trans people – all trans people – are safe and free.

Incredibly disappointing from UKGE and I really hope they think about how many artists, writers, designers, and creators are against the use of AI in the industry, and WHY.

Promoting games and products that use it is pretty poor, but deleting the comments of those pointing it out is insulting.

The tattoo being a random drunk action might be believable if there were no behavioral examples to back it up. That tattoo with the reddit post is disqualifying without years of substantial counter behavior. I don't see why anyone would trust in this situation.

No Kings is a great organizing tool, but it is not the final resistance. If you don't feel yourself having to push through the resistance then you're probably not really engaged. That line will be different for different people, but we should feel effort were putting in.

Other things that look like the Montgomery Bus Boycott or General Strikes are going to take concrete demands and a LOT of strategic coordination. Get involved with community organizations so when that starts to come together you can add early momentum.

I met plenty of people at No Kings doing daily protests at ICE facilities. Walk around with whistles and warn your community when you see ICE. Especially if you live in red states sell out underground markets to bypass sales tax. Gum up report hotlines.

No Kings was amazing but if you aren't engaged with real direct resistance you should start taking baby steps. I've contributed to trans surgery funds, contributed to the ACLU, put shopping discipline practices in place to avoid capitulating companies. This is the small stuff.
