Six people had their visas revoked due to their social media posts.

Six people are being deported because of what they said online.

Six people have had their freedom of speech suspended.

It won’t stop with these six people.

Either we all have freedom of speech or none of us do.

That’s crazy. I wonder what happened in January

That's why a good education system, that encourages critical thinking, is so important.

Neither side has done enough for the American workers over the last several decades. That's not a party political point, it's a simple fact.

The message of hope and optimism that was the cornerstone of Obamas campaigns got lost in a sea of negativity pushed out by right wing 'news' channels and big corporations. By 2024 both sides spent the campaign just attacking each other which suited the GOP because their policies were terrible.

The US has definitely regressed, partly through a terrible education system but, I think, too many people spent too much time focusing on the negatives of the GOP rather than pushing the positives of Harris. Obama was smart, he talked about hope at every opportunity. It's a vote winner.

The EU membership offer is an opportunity.

It is the promise of peace, prosperity, solidarity.

Together, we overcame the 2022 energy crisis.

Today, the EU will continue to help keep Serbia safe during the winter.

This is what it means to be a reliable partner.

I would love to listen to those, who fought for civil rights, talking about how they were feeling when the Civil Rights Act was signed into law. I bet many were so emotional.
splootman.bsky.social
Spot on because, it means when you get what you were fighting FOR you have something tangible to show for that fight.
splootman.bsky.social
People are more motivated to fight FOR something imo like fighting FOR civil rights, fighting FOR womens rights, or fighting FOR people to understand black lives matter etc
It's just a much more positive vibe.

I would have preferred 'Defend Our Democracy ' it's more inspiring and puts fire in the belly imo.

It will definitely help the the big corporations.

I wish there was a quicker, and easier, way but there isn't and we will only get one shot at this so we have to makes sure our ducks are all in a line before we take it.
splootman.bsky.social
It's a double edged sword. By doing it this way we can prove,to the EU,that we can be trusted to stick to any deals made and it will show the British people that the EU isn't this nasty ogre that wants to make their lives more difficult.People forget that we have to convince both groups to trust us
splootman.bsky.social
The more agreements and deals we can do over the next few years then the smaller the step will be when it comes to the bigger stuff. But, you have to give people the time to feel the benefits of the first steps before even thinking about the big ones later down the line.
splootman.bsky.social
It's all about the long game, build trust with our EU friends, then do some small, but significant, deals with them , then start talking about the disaster of Brexit so people are more willing to see further deals before we start looking at the big stuff.

Thanks to the policies of Donald Trump the economy is booming. Sadly, for the US it's the economy of Argentina, oh, and Canada.

“Make an effort to understand the imperative [for climate action] and recognise the huge opportunities,” he said. “Those opportunities are your growth story – inaction is catastrophic.” In Feb UK’s net zero sector was growing 3X faster than the overall UK economy.

It's also why Trump doesn't care that his policies hurt his own base. He knows how dumb they are and, once they get pissed off, will immediately resort to violence. Thus giving him the perfect excuse to declare martial law.

Of course, they will drop the lower council tax pledge as easily as the wide mouthed frog dropped the income tax pledge. They are a bunch of charlatans, chancers, and racists built in the image of their leader.

Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey as my dad used to say. This is the next step along the road imo. Publicly stating what a disaster Brexit was puts the issue front and centre in the minds of the electorate and will make it easier to convince them that stronger ties with the EU are a good thing.

Democratic Wins media

In a stunning moment, Fed Chair Jerome Powell just blamed Donald Trump’s immigration policies for destroying our economy. Wow.
