I might’ve played worse but most recently? Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku. It’s not even very difficult to finish but it felt very incompetent

What's the worst game you finished/rolled credits on?

(games media folks, it can't be something you were assigned to review; this has to be something you subjected yourself to of your own free will)

This Quintesson invasion arc has been far and away the best part of the show so far. The episode pacing finally feels appropriate and the slimmed down cast does the character writing a million favors. Clobber is a treat.

Pretty well, going on 3 years with their SO

This is how my best friend was conceived

The team medic with a (I don’t know if the feeling went back this far but) widely reviled toy that doesn’t look much like the comic

The decision to give him big humanlike pecs is so funny, it looks like he could do the shit David Hasselhoff did in the SpongeBob movie
spideythursday.bsky.social
Well I don’t know about you but I thought the Time Warner Cable ad made it pretty clear
spideythursday.bsky.social
Oh I’m gonna be annoyed by how they say “Quintesson” for the rest of the show, aren’t I

I think the subs just got the spelling wrong, saying “present company excepted” would be grammatically correct

Though it is also funny that Jazz is the creepiest one here when regarding the cartoon, cuz trying to read his dialogue with Scatman Crothers’s voice in mind is hilariously dissonant

Prowl takes a bullet for Prime at one point and it barely registered to me cuz he’s barely around. Rack n Ruin register as more of a character to me and their whole character is stacking towers of crates

I like how Wheeljack conveniently leaves out that if you’re in Unspace for too long you fuckin cease to exist, Bludgeon is like, super ultra dead
spideythursday.bsky.social
Hey why DID Bludgeon kill Slipstream anyway

I think it’s more likely for the Decepticons to be more interesting than the Autobots in any given story just because there’s usually some friction going on between them by virtue of being the villain faction, which is why every hero faction needs at least one POS (Rattrap, Prime Ratchet, etc.)

11 minute episode pacing (well, 10 minutes 30 seconds in this show’s case) can be done decently, maybe a false equivalence but I don’t remember thinking too often that Regular Show or Adventure Time moved too quick, but I don’t think these writers have gotten a handle on it, even after half the show

I think it might also be a pacing problem (maybe THE problem I have with Cyberverse), episode-to-episode the pacing is fine but the moment-to-moment of watching any given episode feels like everything was condensed by a few minutes, which leaves not much time to define a lot of these characters

and then Optimus turns to him in the first episode of season 3 and pretty much says “now it is your turn to get development.” So when we get a scene like this which is supposed to exemplify Bee and Rod’s friendship, it really does not hit at all (3/3)
spideythursday.bsky.social
they’re not all that well-defined? Outside of a certain handful, a lot of these characters don’t have very strong voices (in the writing sense) and don’t really stick in my mind. Hot Rod especially has just kinda Been Here for all of season 2 (2/3)

This scene’s kinda emblematic of one of my big problems with Cyberverse, cuz this is a very classic sort of scene in action stuff like this, and it hits all those beats (“we can help”, the look back, etc.) but despite ostensibly spending a decent amount of time with these characters, (1/3)

I’m gonna be real I completely forgot this guy existed
Drift, who’s revealed that his turn to the Autobots, which was something only kinda gestured at in a flashback from half the show ago, was a ruse and he’s still evil
spideythursday.bsky.social
I like that the fuzors exist in this as other alien races. I doubt that’s gonna be a relevant detail going forward but shit, that one offhand mention is probably the most that Bantor’s gonna get for the next 20 years
spideythursday.bsky.social
Well I haven’t gotten to those yet

Does he stand out much from the other Screamers? In my opinion not particularly, but he’s a huge failure which is the most integral part of Starscream’s character, so he’s a-ok with me
