We have some of the highest rainfall levels in the UK here on #Dartmoor in the South West. Waterproofs form a necessary and frequent part of the wardrobe, but they are nothing new. Here two #1860s gals braving the elements in proofed rain mantles. It’s only weather #FIDMMuseum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

It was! He made is wife move into the attic and moved his much younger (38 yrs younger) side piece in. Utter shit. Then when wife died of heart failure he had the nerve to be all cut up about it. AND he burned her writings because she slagged him.

But I did end the programme agreeing he was a better poet than he was novelist.
I listened to this on Thomas Hardy’s poetry yesterday. Against my better judgement if I’m honest. And what a rotter he was! Mind you, hiding in plain sight with his creepy-arse novels.
