Bold reform is needed but unless there is investment, accountability and system-wide inclusion, EHCPs will remain both essential and overstretched - leaving children in legal limbo, when they should be in schools that can meet their needs as a matter of course. www.tes.com/magazine/ana...
Are EHCPs really driving the SEND crisis?
Education, health and care plans have been blamed for an unsustainable rise in special educational needs in schools, but would scrapping or limiting these plans fix the problem?

Great work by Dr Hayley Smith and Dr Natasha Holden. We hope the Government are influenced by them and the psychologists that have signed the petition.

A reluctant share, but it’s important for every SEND parent to understand what his party thinks of them (if you didn’t already): SEND provision is being "hijacked by parents who are abusing the system", the deputy leader of Reform UK has said. www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp...

DR UK Campaigner Mikey Erhardt spoke with Sky News about the Government's chaos and mismanagement, juggling Disabled people's lives.

How on earth can they ever expect us to trust them moving forward after this calamity?

Thank you.
There has been no public consultation with disabled people about the proposals on PIP. This is not just about process, it makes disabled people worse off.

I've just asked the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what she will do to ensure her department regains the trust of disabled people.

Thank you.
The PIP and UC bill is an attack on disabled people.

I will be voting against the bill today to make clear disabled people matter and that I recognise the additional costs of navigating a world built for neurotypical, healthy people.

Second attempt to post today’s @quietriotpod.bsky.social. I’ll only add that the quiet empathy shown here over the recent PIP chaos was personally moving (my family has had a triple whammy of serious health issues over 3 years). And the trade news, neglected elsewhere, gave me hope.

An extra 150,000 people will still be pushed into poverty despite the government making significant concessions on its plans to cut welfare, according to its own analysis.

Thank you. This bill has been rushed through and will be very harmful to disabled people and their carers.
I am hearing from constituents who are still desperately concerned about the Welfare Bill, and what it will mean not only for their future but for young people as well. I will be voting against this cruel bill - please encourage your local MP to do the same.
