How to build a social-media site:
-Build app
-Let trans, sw & leftists make the platform popular
-Rightwingers & centrist contrarians get attracted by the harrassment potential
-Start restricitvely moderating so that original users have to flee
-Now you know have yet another shit social media site!

They have this button on the right hand column that in addition to public shaming, lets you shame them in other useful ways

Restricting the expression of sexuality through fiction and art made by adults, for adults – including those you find personally disturbing or offputting – is conservative censorship, full stop. When that censorship disproportionately affects subgroups, that's also discrimination. For shame.
The bad news keep coming

These go into effect Oct 15th

The fact that the New York Post and WSJ can post dangerous misinformation and not even get so much as a slap on the wrist, while a rude trans person can get banned in less than a day after making a post, calls into question how seriously Bluesky really IS listening to those marginalized voices.
so non-con in fiction (including cnc and bdsm, bc the wording is very broad) is banned but transphobia will still be rampant.

so great! so healthy! so transparent! so amazing! /s

Building Healthier Social Media: Updated Guidelines and New Features - Bluesky
Public discourse on social media has grown toxic and divisive, but unlike other platforms, Bluesky is building a social web that empowers people instead of exploiting them.

anyway. sick of ableism from people who claim to be allies. if you do this kind of thing or share it, please just block me. i'm exhausted of having to pretend it is funny.
of their disability, and accommodations do not and will not exist for it." but that is very different than openly mocking them SOLEY based on being disabled. they don't care. those of us with that same issue do. similar to the whole trump baby hands thing, imo.
also, making fun of politicians being disabled and insulting them for it is constant. that person does not care and will not see your comments. you know who will? disabled people with the same struggles (such as biden's stutter). i understand going "idk if this person can do that job fully because+
i don't expect everyone to speak perfectly all the time and never be ableist ever. but it is CONSTANT. i am exhausted. i feel myself becoming a bitter, angry crip again in real time, because ppl who seem to have space and respect for all other marginalized groups do not have it for didabled ppl.
this happens daily. these are not comments from disabled people. recent ones include "everyone's a little autistic" as a punchline (not making fun of the phrase, but making fun of someone being awkward), and "hot wheels" (in reference to an old wheelchair user). and those are the nice, tame ones.
the number of times i'll read an opinion or laugh along with a comedian only for that person to make an ableist comment/joke that actively punches down at disabled ppl in general and not just whatever person it is they're critiquing is absurd. it's been at least twice today alone.

I think a lot about how my great-grandparents must have felt in the 30s. How they must have lived with constant fear. I've talked about this before, but my great-grandpa wrote newspaper op-eds about boycotting Germany. No one listened to him. They both, along with their son, died in Auschwitz.

i think this is about having family who can and do actually support you. not having family to supoort you can also just be them refusing to do so.
it's a real issue but it often turns into either blaming the disabled person or abandoning them, when they need support too. i know my patents genuinely are okay with taking care of me and WANT to help me but i also know it can get exhausting for them at times. i wish there was more support for them
yeah. without my parent's support i would probably die. people think i'm exaggerating. meanwhile i'm trying to figure out how the fuck to get money so i can afford to live and hire a caregiver in the future so i don't die when my parents get old.
genuinely asking btw i cannot keep up w everything scotus is doing, they're a hot mess
a woman just won a case against him for sexual assault + defamation, so this is why i'm confused.
i thought the ruling was that the president couldn't be sued for executive orders specifically? did smth change?

I know it's not like intentional or anything like that but it is exhausting that disability (particularly disability while young) is always, always left out of rhetoric about who has been fighting and sounding the alarm about fascism for years (decades, etc)
that's so cute :(((
one of my cats purrs fairly quiet so you can't always tell. the other one purrs like she's a motorboat and it can be a bit shocking when you don't know she's there! but it's nice too
i have not seen the video, a family member has. i will not be commenting on this outside of echoing this warning that the video of Charlie Kirk being shot is very graphic. some have suggested turning off autoplay.
I’m being very literal. You might not want to see the guy lose a fuck ton of blood from his neck in a matter of seconds. Some people may throw up.
He was a Nazi, you shouldn't be feeling sorry for someone who only had one emotion: hate.
