Cats are the classic choice for a witch's familiar, the origin of which is obvious: Freyja, essentially a witch herself, had two massive cats that drove her chariots, and her devotees kept cats as sacred. Thus the superstition was demonized, becoming witchy. #WyrdWednesday

Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target @ICEgov agents in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

Unfortunately, the images had also revealed that it was possible he was not straight, which meant NONE of the men were comfortable talking to him about it.

I was the only one brave enough to talk to him about it.

So that was one of the weirder conversations I had to have in my early career.

It was several terabytes and in the early aughts that was pretty impressive.

We discovered that we had to talk to THE medical director about their ...inappropriate use of the image server.

Whoever did it would have to explain that it wasn't meant to be temporary storage for just ANY images.

I worked in healthcare IT, and the beginning of my career I specialized in radiation systems that used imaging to guide them. That meant we needed large servers with lots of space, one named 'the image server' where we just chucked all available space to it.
