Just passed 1,000,000,000 files stored in our vault at work, which equates to nearly 1 PB of material 🥳💀

Granted it's a misleading number as modern AAA projects tend to store piles of generated files in their repos, but a fantastic milestone nonetheless

After never before using a monitor above 60hz and 1920x1080, I decided to invest in a little Christmas gift for myself. Picked up the Odyssey G5 QHD, and holy. This is magic

The colour difference alone is shocking let alone the buttery smoothness of everything else

Snow shovelling is one of my favourite winter activities, which is awesome because in Alberta it snows a ton

I think I may look into voice acting classes in the new year 🤔

Having a speed impediment kind of dooms my hope for it, but any hobby that gives me an excuse to overcome that impairment is kind of exciting. It's why I like public speaking

- Updated support for 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7
- Search bar
- View modes for how the tiles are laid out (Inspired by how the foliage mode does it)

Just beat Lies of P + The Overture DLC!

What an incredible game all around, with a DLC absolutely worth playing. I ended up doing two back-to-back full playthroughs which is pretty rare for me.

It felt like Lies truly solved a number of my biggest gripes with the genre. Bravo

Beat Diablo 4 recently, and I'm torn on it.

I don't really love the open-world style. Monster placements felt so arbitrary and plentiful that the world storytelling was a mess. The main story was okay, but the PC felt like a side-character.

At least the tone was gritty?

Too long has there been a complete lack of collaboration and communication between Industry and Institutional Game Preservation groups. It's time we start to fix that.

"Tribal Knowledge"

This is one of the biggest pain points of my job. Game Preservation suffers massively when groups keep knowledge in their heads and don't write it down, or don't document *where* they wrote it down

Progress so far on my free online D&D character sheet tool built in React with Typescript

- Most numerical things are dynamically calculated
- Skills have a Proficiency / Expertise' tri-state checkbox

I started a new side project: A free, no account required, online D&D character sheet editor with all the bells and whistles you'd expect or want: Auto-calculating fields, data linking for items and spells, etc

It'll be a while, but it's a fun project to keep my skills sharp

For my fellow game developers out there, a starter tip for preparing your games for archiving:

Write down the list of software & tool versions you use, their respective download links, and even an offline copy of the installers if possible. These are needed for reconstitution
