The movie "One Battle After Another" shows a sequence of events performed with great energy & much skill. I'm not sure that makes it a great movie though.

Crossroads were happening. Looked good, but wrecks of factories clogged nice river areas, and people still talked like the "stil mills" would come back. I was in the rust belt around 2005 & they were still talking about how they might come back. Sadly, that probably sways their votes to this day

Watched 1970 TV movie "The Brotherhood of the Bell". Plenty of flaws, but introduces interesting themes: news media cynicism, manipulation of "reality" TV, using conspiracy theories to gaslight people. "Network" took up these themes again in 1976. Wonderfully deranged performance by William Conrad

Went to see 1970 Japanese movie Kuroneko at the Trylon. Looks interesting but the plot isn't a normal movie structure. It's more like a folk tale or myth so unfortunately it's repetitive
