However on a fresh install, there is the risk that MS might try to “teehee auto upgrades you” to Win 11 during the process. You can use InControl (easy, has a gui) or the regedit trick to stop that.

Yes, just follow the steps in the video again. Obtaining the ESU, despite MS making it a whole hooplah process with popups and splashes, is actually, technically, modifying two encrypted text files with the windows package id and the encryption key to decrypt said updates.

Technically you can eventually move to 10 IoT ltsc for 7 more years afterwards.

The “bricking” was probably because they attempted to upgrade their windows account to an online ms account and that’s a beehive nest of wasps.

The method above doesn’t require windows account changes.

If you are curious, in most cases the script will be interacting with the MS programs: spp, regedit, sc, slsvc, wmic, dism.

You can google all of these if you are unsure.

For purposes of clarity, there are viruses that take over these files out there & you might get those as a first result on goog

There is (on start) a check to see if the script is the latest version. If it isn’t, then it prompts you to get latest manually.

Outside of that, everything here is running programs on your machine that are made by MS and can only communicate to MS services.

So no data exfil, no foreign install.

And yes I fixed this in 11 by manually going into device manager and terminating the computer’s ability to see the monitors as speakers.

I shouldn’t have to go that far to do that, and I wouldn’t have to in previous OS versions.

I have it on a work PC, despite disabling my monitors for audio playback in the settings app, Windows 11 keeps changing it to the default every time I unlock the PC.

It has access to a dedicated speaker device but nope, it refuses to keep it as a default.

Windows 10 never did this.

You can give yourself 3 more years pretty easily, but yes, windows 10 was never going to be evergreen forever, even though there are no new _real_ technical advancements in 11.

But you don't have to upgrade to Windows 11!!

Europe only gets one year for free. You can combine both methods (Europe 1 year and the above for years 2 & 3) for the full 3 years.
