FWIW, I'm (VERY) unemployed at the moment, so cover work, character design, or comic book pages gigs (with gentle deadlines) are more than welcome.

-What are we fighting for? And don't tell me "survival" because it's not enough. Every animal does that.

[...]

-Maybe someone, someday, will hear a story about how we fought and think "OK then" and roll their own sleeves up.
Is that enough?

-Yeah. That'll do fine.

Feels like the editorial mandate is always trying to pander to anything but the loyal readership.

I've always disliked the "forget about this thing so this other thing can happen" trope, take some out of the story and feels lazy

If there was ever a time for Alan Moore to come back to comics, it's now.
People with a lot of power are reading Watchmen as if it was a Bible, and only Moore can stop them.

Sigh. I see that the long standing tradition of promoting comic book series with boobs bigger than their heads is still going strong.
Weird that the guys don't get the same treatment. Would be nice.

Imagine still making Harry Potter content in 2025. Losers behaviour.

I feel like only with a team of characters no one cares about (not even their publishers) you can get really experimental and risky

Why would you unleash such horrors on a Sunday?

Watched Oblivion (2013), some sites saying it was a great scifi film.
Tom Cruise of course playing a HERO that is always right and do the right thing, even sacrificing his life for the common good yet still having a happy end and "getting the girl" somehow.
Some pretty visuals, but empty of plot.

Author and filmmaker Justine Bateman on generative AI
"They're trying to convince people they can't do the things they've been doing easily for years - to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat.
People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian

Has anyone seen Musk and Graber at the same time? Because I have a theory...
