Hey, I am Evan, and I run SNES Central. I will be posting mainly about retro gaming stuff, with an obvious focus on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System!
I posted a page about a prototype of the PAL version of Madden NFL 95. It is identical to the final game. This is again thanks to drx from @hiddenpalace.org. snescentral.com/review.php?i...

I just posted a short article on a prototype of the German version of Lord of the Rings Volume 1. It is basically the same as final, but appears to have a watermark. Again, this is courtesy of drx at @hiddenpalace.org.

I released a prototype of The Brainies, which apparently had a delay in its US release (possibly from 1992) to 1996. But maybe that is wrong. Does anyone have a cart that does not have the ESRB label on it?

Just as I was starting to work on an update, some signs appeared that the hard drive where I store all my SNES files was failing. Looks like I managed to back everything up, though. If things go well, I should have an update up later today!

GTW Highlight No.11: Switching focus to the #SNES in April, we preserved the unfinished Mechanoids 2: The Final Conflict. An early side-scrolling mech fighter planned for 1993. We recovered two prototype builds you can check out and play:

GTW Highlight No.21: In June, we recovered a very different version of World Class Rugby for the #SNES, dated July 1992 - some time before the final release. The engine was very different from the final version, with different sprites + faster pace.

GTW Highlight No.26: July saw our amazing recovery of several SNES prototype builds of Porky Pig’s Haunted Holiday (from 1993–1994), including 6 unseen subgames (PORKATHLON!), early sprites, and stacks and stacks of content cut from the final release.

GTW Highlight No.27: In July, we released a canned #SNES development of Titus the Fox. Very early stages, with an animating fox sprite and test map that you can explore. There's also a split screen mode. Likely a new Titus game, rather than a conversion.

GTW Highlight No.29: In July, we released two early protos of Kick Off 3 for the SNES with major differences with titles, menus and score panels. There are likely sprite differences too and a lot of glitches not yet fixed compared to the final release.

I know I have been quiet for some time. I have been super busy, and haven't really even had time to play any video games! However, I do hope to have some updates in early January, probably of the SNES prototype nature.

You would be surprised, but there's a new Game Processor RAM Cassette dump that works (from 2008).
This is "Asameshi Penta" and you can download it and try it out.
I have also updated the Mario Factory paragraph with more detail about how it works and more.
