#Networks with #government, #thinktanks etc for #Birmingham, one of the UK's great but dis-empowered #cities. I own my views but they are socially constructed.
Do we get the journalism we deserve? What have we done to deserve this tedious, personalised, childish debate on the budget? #newsnight

So, we're now expected to believe that the people who covered for Johnson's corruption, the Covid mess that killed thousands, party gate, openly supported Liz Truss and insisted that Brexit was a good idea, are now telling us dishonesty is bad #Newsnight

The OBR definitely has too much power and a right wing bias. Government has had to negotiate to get them to understand that public investment creates growth rather than crowding out private investment. That mentality is what has held us back #newsnight

Nick Robinson using the term "black hole" over and over again in his best lawyerly voice as if it has a well-defined meaning #r4today

Anyone waking up to Today this morning will think they’ve gone down a rabbit hole (black hole?). The Budget story is just an exercise in semantic hair splitting. The ghost train still makes no sense to anyone and the SAS story is also about what is said when rather than the substance. #r4today

£ Paywall, but here’s the gist on Robbie Gibb: “He was not sure what he was accused of, he said. Inside the BBC, they are: political interference.”

Growth in the UK has been low since 2008. There has been plenty of time to see how the “cut spending and public investment” approach works - it didn’t. Let the alternative have a chance. #r4today

Victoria, stop the hectoring aggressive approach. It’s out of place and unnecessary. And we learn nothing from it. #newsnight

Sorry but “boring managerialism” is exactly what you’ve got. And Piers Morgan is talking absolute nonsense as always about a budget we haven’t seen yet. Why is he on?? 🙄😡 #newsnight

No Mr Morgan, Trump wants peace because it’s good for business (especially his business) not for any moral reason - just look at the deal! 🙄 #newsnight
