Presenting work today at Aarhus Critical Computing about my volunteer activities at 45 St Green Space over the past 5 years. In the paper, I describe the links between post-pandemic work from home trends and changes to collective organizing and New Yorkers' relationship to space.

Zohran Mamdani's instagram video ads for mayoral candidacy are something else. If this guy doesn't become mayor, we should definitely give him an Internet TV show

Oh hey it’s the cover of my new book, “Bangkok After Dark” (May 2025, @dukepress.bsky.social).

I love the design! I am beyond excited for you to read this thing.
A book cover with a standing piano player in a white shirt, and the title “Bangkok After Dark: Maurice Rocco, Transnational Nightlife, and the Making of Cold War Intimacies” in front of orange and green shapes.

Hope to see some of you at IPK tonight! In these confusing times, it is only more important to come together and celebrate members in our community who are doing good and important work. Cyborg synthesizes some of the best STS feminist scholarship for students, scholars, and the public.

It’s time to organize: “The internet has conditioned us to constantly seek new information, as if becoming a sponge of bad news will eventually yield the final piece of a puzzle. But there is also such a thing as having enough information.”

"Last week, outpatient influenza data was missing, so I visited the websites of all 50 state health departments... That data was later brought back online, but then CDC’s main data repository (data.cdc.gov) was taken down. For the second week in a row, I was back to rounding up data by hand."

Where are folks getting their news? I'm getting a much clearer interpretation of the impacts of what's going on from personal networks close to institutions affected by EOs than any news source. I want to keep better track but everything feels disaggregated - any tips appreciated.

Based on 5 years of engagement in a community greenspace (through the pandemic), I've been thinking & writing about how urban life has become increasingly mediated/isolated & what this means for the hopes for - and inequalities in - place-based environmental activism. LMK if you'd like to join!

I am hiring a postdoc! Excellent research support, minimal teaching load, and an overall wonderful set up. The research focus is flexible as long as some part of your practice involves critical making or hands-on research in some form. (1/3)
