Indeed.

The government has chosen to prioritise reducing (skilled, legal, for work) migration over growth and hence over improving public services.

No economic rationale - but even worse, no political rationale either.

Sadly, Dispatches don't have a BlueSky account, so I couldn't QT them for further info.
The only other post was from the Kings Fund (which would inevitably attract trolls more interested in slagging off the Royal family).
