We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Just need to get good at code obfuscation and make a fork of Godot that breaks without the right cryptographic key if you try to reverse engineer the game and recompile for Windows.

Fuck if I ever make a commercial game Im tempted to say "I dont want copilot to steal my work so the Windows version has kernel level anti cheat to prevent Copilot/Recall scraping assets. No official support if it causes issues, if you want the best experience then switch to Linux instead"

If I get back into gamedev, Steam Deck will be my main target device - 90hz at full resolution, acceptable loading on MicroSD - and all games will be Linux native, Linux first - Windows versions will be after-the-fact ports only (least until majority stop being Microsoft shills)

Sorry to jump in but yeah Nobara's pretty great - Fedora is a nice base that balances stability and fast updates, and Nobara is just Fedora but with a lot of media and gaming drivers pre-installed (and a lot less locked down than Bazzite). Solid choice

Theres no wrong choice no matter what the neckbeards say. Pick something, give it a go and see how well it works. If you dont like it or something specific doesnt work try something else. Just make sure you backup your data or keep it seperate from the OS and youre good to go

Main thing is choosing a mainstream distro is going to be smooth - Ubuntu based (Linux, Pop OS) tend to be very stable. Arch/Arch based (SteamOS, Manjaro) are bleeding edge. RPM based (Fedora, OpenSUSE, Nobara) is balance of newer updates and stability

At some point I might try to make some infographics about differences between linux distros and terminology etc. Really wishing now Id made those before the Windows 10 shutdown. Think we need more approachable resources for Linux beginners
